The payment solution was unveiled at today's Blockchain Week conference. It is reported that it was developed by BitPay and first installed on Ingenico's ICT250 terminal.
According to the company, this payment solution will be compatible with the majority of Ingenico's terminals (running the Tellium operating system).
Speaking of integration, Miguel Angel Hernandez, general manager of Ingenico Iberia, said in a statement:
"Participating in such an important project will enable the Ingenico Group to demonstrate its leadership in the payments arena and provide users with a secure and reliable payment method similar to virtual currency."
It is reported that after entering the sales price of a French currency, the merchant will generate a QR code, and then the customer can use Bitcoin to pay on the Ingenico terminal. The QR code can be scanned by the customer via the Bitcoin wallet app.
At present, Ingenico has more than 5,000 employees worldwide and its annual revenue in 2013 reached 1.37 billion euros.
