Fabric

Fabrics include all fibrous materials that are woven, knitted, ligated, and non-woven wool or felt products.

Fabric fibers can be divided into the following three categories:

1. Cellulose Natural Fibers: Cotton, Linen, Hemp, Jute, Kapok, Coco Synthetic Cellulose: Rayon, Cellulose Acetate

2. Protein natural protein fiber: wool, silk synthetic protein fiber: artificial hair

3. Synthetic Fiber Polyamide, Polypropylene Eye and Poly Acetate Fiber

Cotton mainly contains cellulose, which currently accounts for about 50% of world textile production. Cotton has high heat and alkali resistance, but moldability and acid resistance are extremely poor. Bleached cotton is very hygroscopic but only has very weak insulation properties. Mercerized cotton (treated with Sudar) had better ink absorption.

The linen itself is light and can be bleached. The flax has good moisture absorption and can absorb 25% of moisture without feeling wet. Flax fiber is a good conductor of heat and is easy to wrinkle.

Jute is the best kind of fiber. The jute line is rough and contains many ash. In order to make the jute line feel soft, it is usually treated with an emulsion, leaving a noticeable odor after treatment. Jute accepts dyes with good properties, but dyed jute is not resistant to sunlight. Jute is used in the production of decorative fabrics and handbags.

Natural fibre hemp, kapok and coconut fibres are not used for screen printing. Synthetic Rayon is a kind of regenerated cellulose, it has a smooth surface and good gloss. In wet conditions, the strength of rayon is significantly reduced. Rayon has good acceptability for dyes, low elasticity and high flammability. Artificial cellulose Acetate cools at low temperatures. Triacetin is a new type of acetic acid vinegar that is resistant to high temperatures (up to 300 °C). Acetic acid vinegar has a great loss of strength in wet conditions. Acetic acid is often used as a sticker material for label production.

Hair is the most important protein material, it is loose and soft, relatively curly. The hair contains keratin, which is a very elastic protein material. Hair is a self-extinguishing fiber that absorbs large amounts of water vapor from the air without moisture, and has excellent thermal insulation properties. Although wool is generally more difficult to print than cotton fibers, it is better at accepting dyes.

Silk is the only natural single fiber thread. Silk is very elastic and easily absorbs moisture, but it is not easy to print because silk receives poor dye performance.

Polyamide is a very strong, abrasion-resistant fiber. It has high elasticity, poor hygroscopicity, and resistance to scratches.

Polypropylene eye fiber is light in color, strong in heat insulation, and resistant to light and weather. Polypropylene fiber is poor in hygroscopicity. Polyester fiber is easy to wrinkle, dimensionally stable, and has high tensile strength and wear resistance. Polyacetal fibers are easily mixed with wool or cotton fibers, they are resistant to scratching and dilute acid, and are resistant to light and are not prone to mold.
