What are the environmental standards for MDF?

What are the environmental standards for MDF? This question is for everyone today.

First of all, we must confirm what is called the environmental protection board. Plates that are completely free of formaldehyde are absolutely non-existent. It is important to make clear that even pure solid wood plates release an aldehyde known as furfural.

At present, according to the current national and international standards, MDF should be directly applied indoors, must reach at least E1 and 1.5mg/L. If this standard is not met, it must undergo certain deep processing (edge banding, paste Face, etc., so that the finished product eventually reaches the E1 level, so this standard is a mandatory standard and a minimum standard.

Along with the improvement of production technology, more international standards than E1 are introduced by the MDF industry (although the highest national standard is still only E1), these international standards mainly include E0, CarbP2, F four stars. Grade, the more common one is E0 grade (formaldehyde emission 0.5mg / L, lower than the formaldehyde content of water, formaldehyde formaldehyde release of 0.9mg / L) and CARBP2 grade. The E0 level and the CARB P2 level use different measurement methods, so the values are different, but the level of both can be considered the same. This kind of certificate country cannot be issued, because these are international standards. China currently only has the E1 standard. Other standards are not available. However, there are still authoritative international testing organizations, such as SGS, TUV, etc., which can issue CARBP2 certificates.

Therefore, depending on the environmental protection grade of MDF, it is to look at the formaldehyde emission level of MDF: E0 is better than E1, CarbP2 is basically the same as E0, and F4 is better than E0.

When purchasing medium-density boards or furniture made of MDF, you can choose the board or sheet product that corresponds to the environmental protection level (formaldehyde release level) according to your actual situation. The dealer can provide the corresponding certificate. If it is E1, it needs to provide the national inspection report. If it is CABRP2, it needs to provide the certification of international institutions, SGS, TUV, etc. At the same time, in general, the side of the board will have the manufacturer's code, and the formaldehyde release level will also be indicated.
