Residential building where a fire broke out

At 11 o'clock in the evening on April 4, a fire broke out in Building No. 38, Shidai Longcheng, No. 43 Shenda Road, Yuhong District, Shenyang City, Liaoning Province. The entire residential building was covered with smoke and fire from 1st to 18th floors. By the early morning of the 5th, the fire was extinguished by firefighters. It is gratifying that all 63 residents of the entire residential building were successfully evacuated without causing casualties.

Residents of high-rise residential buildings found that the building was on fire, how should they escape from life? When the reporter interviewed on the spot, some of the affected residents told about their escape experience.

12th floor: a family of three wet towels escape

A male resident living on the 12th floor recalled that the first thing that broke into the house during the fire was smoke. "At the time, my family and I were sleeping. I was the first to be awake by smoke." He heard the floor when he woke up. There was a loud noise in the room. "When you look at the window, you are on fire." He quickly wakes up his wife and children. "I let my wife go to the bathroom to find a towel, get wet in the bucket that keeps the water, and give it to the child first." Live." After that, a family of three used a wet towel to cover his mouth and nose. He picked up his 5-year-old son and ran down the stairs with his wife. "They all wore pajamas and pajamas, and they couldn’t change their clothes."

Escaped outside the building, the family went to the other side of the fire building. "It’s really dangerous. Fortunately, we ran in time. We saw that the flame had reached the floor of my house."

Don't worry if you find that the building is on fire. It is best to judge from which direction the fire has developed. If the fire is above your home, you should run down the ground. If the fire is below your home, it depends on whether there is a passage to escape. If the escape route has been closed by smoke and fire, consider escaping upstairs. In addition, many high-rise homes have galleries on specific floors that can be routed from one unit to another. If a unit catches fire and the fire is too strong to escape, you can use the corridor to escape to another unit to hedge.

8th floor: I tried to take the elevator downstairs

A resident living on the 8th floor said that he had tried to escape through the elevator in the building during the fire, but he ran to the elevator with a wet towel and found that the elevator had been shut down.

Usually, there are at least two escape stairs in the high-rise building, so try not to take the ordinary elevator. Because in the event of a fire, ordinary elevators are likely to be powered down due to malfunction or human power. When ordinary elevators cannot be used, people can use the internal stairs to evacuate and escape. When they escape, they should close the fire doors of the stairwells as much as possible to prevent fireworks from entering.

5th floor: I want to jump out of the window but I gave up because it was too high.

"At the time, I saw the fire on the other side of the building. There was some distance from my home. I almost jumped straight out of the window." A fifth-floor resident recalled that after the fire was discovered, he heard the noise in the corridor. "At the time, I thought about the building." There are too many people, afraid that the stairs are blocked, and even trampled." "But look too high from the window, dare not jump." When hesitating, "Firemen knocked on the door, after opening the door, firefighters Leading me out of the walking ladder."

If you are trapped in a lower floor (below 3 floors), you can throw indoor mattresses, quilts and other soft objects to the bottom of the building when you escape, then jump from the window to the soft object to escape, or put sheets, curtains, carpets, etc. Form a rope for self-rescue. If you jump from the 5th floor, you are likely to be seriously injured. If it is not the fire that has spread to the eye, try not to choose this way to escape.

Tip: The bathroom is relatively safer

During the interview, the reporter learned that a resident living on the 8th floor did not bring out the pet dog that had been raised for nearly 10 years. Later, when the family was accompanied by the police, they entered the building to find a dog. Finally, they found a puppy in their own house. Although many hairs were blackened, the puppy was safe. That is to say, in the event of a fire, the puppy escaped into the utility room and was safely rescued.

If all safety passages are cut off during a fire, the toilet is a safer safer place than the utility. Remember, never drill under the bed or in the closet. After entering the bathroom, the doors and windows should be closed, then open the faucet, shower, etc. to release water. If there is a bathtub in the bathroom, you should keep releasing the water. Once the fire develops into the bathroom, you can lie in the bathtub with water.

In addition, it is necessary to use a water basin to pour water to the bathroom door to cool down.
