New process for extrusion of thermoplastic composite profiles
Recently, PlastiComp of the United States and GaMra Composites Co., Ltd. have jointly developed a new extrusion process for thermoplastic composites, namely, a thermoplastic compounding process and a direct extrusion process in series. In this process, continuous long fibers are first embedded directly into a high-temperature, high-pressure resin (Pushtrusion process). During the forming phase, the cutter cuts the fibers and maintains the temperature of the resin. The composite is then injected directly into the screw through the nozzle. . According to relevant sources, the use of extrusion molding will make the cost of fiber-reinforced plastic profiles similar to those of traditional materials such as PVC profiles, but it is stronger and more heat-resistant than hard PVC profiles.
