Easy to use bottle cap of Olay vitamin supplement

INTRODUCTION: In August 2003, Pharmavite LLC's Olay vitamin supplement was packaged using Weatherchem's NutraFlapper cap. Consumers generally report that they have good, convenient performance.

Pharmavite LLC, Inc. (Mission Hills, Calif.) received Procter & Gamble's permission to use Olay's brand name and logo on its nutritional supplement product packaging.

"The NutraFlapper caps help us provide simple and easy-to-use closure solutions for soft gels and tablets," said Dan Murphy, packaging development manager at Pharmavite. This cast, top-opening polypropylene cap is gold metallic.

“The gold lid used in this vitamin supplement package is easily reminiscent of Olay's skin care products,” adds Murphy. “Weatherchem also introduced a custom-made, easy-to-peel inner sealing strip with the name of Olay into its bottle. Cover the production line, thus further improving the sealing program."

Barbara Lindquist, senior product manager at Pharmavite, said that in addition to two of the company's 15 nutritional supplements, all of the remaining products use this cap. She also said that the lid is suitable for bottles made of various materials such as HDPE, PP or PET. Tricor Braun, one of Weatherchem's partners, is responsible for distributing the lid to Pharmavite. This kind of lid is mainly used for foods and medicines. The capacity of a single bottle is 30 to 120 tablets or soft gel. The nationwide retail price ranges from $7.99 to $24.99 and is sold in major supermarkets and department stores.

“We like the lid because it takes into account the convenience and practicality of the product and is very popular with consumers,” Lindquist said. “Customers quickly accepted the cap.”
