Five characteristics of UV water-resistant glass ink

UV (ultraviolet light curing) ink refers to the use of ultraviolet light of different wavelengths and energies to polymerize the monomers in the ink binder into polymers under ultraviolet irradiation, so that the ink is filmed and dried. UV inks are also inks. As inks, they must have brilliant colors (except in special cases), good printability, and suitable curing and drying rate. At the same time, it has good adhesion and has the characteristics of wear resistance, corrosion resistance and weather resistance.

UV ink is very suitable for the printing of glass products, but its poor water resistance has always plagued ink developers at home and abroad, and has also hindered the promotion and application of UV inks on glass. In response to this situation, Ito Ink Coating Chemical Technology Co., Ltd. summarized years of experience and lessons in UV ink research and development, broke through traditional ideas, and recently developed a boiled UV glass ink N-GL9000.

This new type of UV ink has the following characteristics:

1. This ink is resistant to low temperature freezing. After many cycles of cooling and heating, the cured glass products maintain the same adhesion. In addition, water-resistant boiling UV silk screen glass ink can also be used for ceramic and metal product printing, which is very suitable for mass production of electrical appliances color crystal glass, no solvent volatile pollution, compared with the traditional baking type greatly reduces the drying time and saves electricity costs.

2. Excellent water resistance. Glass products cured by UV ink can withstand tap water immersion for more than 30 days, and the hardness and adhesion of the cured film are not affected.

3. This UV ink cures quickly and does not require heat treatment. The new UV glass ink is directly cured after printing, and it does not need to be heated again to give the ink layer excellent water resistance. And this ink does not contain volatile solvents, no odor, no network blocking, and fast curing, which not only improves production efficiency, but also facilitates multi-color overprinting.

4. This new ink has high surface hardness. After the water-boilable UV glass ink is cured, the surface pencil hardness reaches 5H ~ 6H, the adhesion is 100%, the finished product can be cut at will, and the ink layer will not be brittle.

5. This ink has excellent solvent resistance. After curing, UV ink can resist the erosion of common organic solvents, and the hardness of the cured film and the adhesion to the glass are not affected.
