There are two common methods of dehumidification for self-adhesive backing paper, namely mechanical dehumidification and steam dehumidification.

Mechanical dehumidification

The basic structure is the same as the dampening device in printing. The rotation of the water bucket roller transfers the water to the dehumidifying roller. The dehumidifying roller evenly transmits the moisture to the back of the base paper (the front side is coated with adhesive). The humidifying roller can rotate in forward direction or reverse direction. The whole device can realize stepless speed change to adjust the amount of moisture back to the bottom paper. The mechanical dehumidification device has a simple structure, low cost, and is easy to adjust and install. The disadvantage is that when the speed of the coating machine changes, the speed of the dehumidification device does not change, so the phenomenon of uneven moisture regain can be caused. Especially when the coating machine changes paper or shuts down, the water bar phenomenon will occur, affecting the quality of the finished product.

Steam dehumidification

A row of nozzles is used to spray water vapor evenly on the back of the backing paper. The steam is evenly distributed along the running direction of the paper. The paper absorbs moisture to achieve the purpose of moisture regain, and changes the moisture regain of the base paper by changing the amount of sprayed steam. Steam dehumidification is an advanced dehumidification method. When the speed of the coating machine changes, the amount of steam can be adjusted by the computer to avoid the shortcomings in the mechanical dehumidification method, but the device is more expensive and suitable for high-end machinery , Used in the production of high-end hair products.
