Quality indicators of seedlings

There are two broad categories of indicators commonly used to describe the quality of seedlings. One is the physical or physical measurement of the seedlings, and the other is the measurement of the physiological or intrinsic quality of the seedlings. Since the 1980s, the research on the quality of seedlings has gradually transitioned from a single morphological quality index to a combination of morphological and physiological indicators, and extended to the molecular level. The quality evaluation of seedlings also extends from the seedling process to the whole process including seedling, storage, transportation, planting, and early growth after planting. Because the measurement results of physiological quality of seedlings are not intuitive, the results of some methods are unstable, some methods are destructive, and require special equipment and technology, they are only suitable for research and are not suitable for production applications. Therefore, through research to find the correlation between various physiological indicators and morphological indicators, determine the main and auxiliary morphological indicators that each tree species and each age type can best represent the quality of seedlings in each region, as well as physiological indicators that are easy to measure and apply. In the actual production, it is an important task of seedling quality evaluation research.
