Therefore, its fire protection requirements can also refer to the cable fire protection standards in GB 50311-2000 The regulations, that is, the use of fire-retardant, low-smoke and less toxic cable materials for the purpose of human escape and fire propagation. The typical series of this type of cable is the CMx cable high flame retardant cable in the United States and the LSOH low smoke halogen free cable in Europe.

For the drone room, the situation is a bit different. First, there is no staff in the computer room; second, there are a lot of information equipment in the computer room; third, the flame may spread along the cable outside the drone room or into the drone room. 1. Two standard series of fireproof cables

Its characteristics are: when the temperature on the spot reaches 750 ℃, the cable can still work normally within 30 minutes to 90 minutes, which provides the possibility of command evacuation for fire alarms and emergency broadcasts, as well as the normal shutdown of the computer And emergency data backup provides time;

The IEC 60332 series belongs to the flame retardant cable series, which requires that the cable will not spread in the flame (flame retardant), less smoke (low smoke), non-toxic (no highly toxic halogen elements), that is, it can prevent the fire from going along The cable spreads, and can give people trapped in the fire the possibility of escape.

Corresponding to these two international standards, the Ministry of Public Security standards GA 306.2 and GA 306.1 were formed in 2001. By 2007, these two standards were upgraded.

2. Demand analysis of fireproof cables in the drone room of the data center

In the unmanned data center (drone room), there are fire alarm systems and alarm bells and indicator lights. Those who temporarily work in the drone room can evacuate the machine room within the first time after encountering a fire Only hosts, servers, storage devices, etc. are still stranded in the computer room and cannot escape on their own.

In the face of such a situation, in addition to ensuring personal safety, can it prevent the fire from spreading to the drone room, can it ensure the safety of the information in the device to the greatest extent after the fire in the drone room, can it protect the connector of the device from Corrosion by corrosive gases becomes another issue that must be considered in fire protection.

For information systems, the most valuable is information, not equipment. For information security, people have introduced various methods such as redundancy, backup, and off-site backup. It is necessary to ensure that the information is intact and complete without spending a lot of money. For the information in the data center, if you can guarantee that the device starts to gather data immediately after receiving the fire alarm and transfer them to a safe place, then the computer equipment shuts down normally, which will minimize the possibility of information loss. .

Even if it is backed up offsite, some information still needs to be temporarily summarized. For example, in some government centers, there will be UPS to provide power to some computers, so that the data can be gathered in time.

However, this series of work is exchanged for time. If the transmission cable cannot maintain the normal transmission ability in the fire, it is impossible to talk about the data. If the power cable can't maintain the power supply in the fire, it can't talk about the normal shutdown of the computer equipment. It can be seen that after a fire, the most ideal way is to ensure that the computer equipment works normally within a certain period of time, and after the information is safely stored, shut down normally. To complete all these tasks, at least 30 minutes are required.

Device security is not the content of this article. For the cables of the integrated wiring system, it is necessary to achieve the three goals of being able to transmit normally under the high temperature of the fire in a certain period of time, preventing the fire from spreading along the cable, and avoiding the corrosive gas from damaging the connectors of the computer equipment The most ideal solution is to develop a transmission cable that has both fire resistance and flame retardant, low-smoke and halogen-free capabilities, because the gas emitted by the low-smoke halogen-free cable contains only water and carbon dioxide.

In Europe, there have been low-smoke halogen-free optical cables that can still work normally for 180 minutes at a high temperature of 800 to 850 ° C (FE180) and have a flame retardancy of IEC 60332.3C (vertical flame retardant test level). It breaks the statement that low-smoke halogen-free cables cannot work at high temperatures, and achieves the ability to meet the above three goals at the same time.

In the data center, the core lines are all optical cables, and the twisted pair (the FE180 grade twisted pair has not been seen yet, so the use of CMP twisted pair is still the most ideal choice at present) only appears near the server cabinet. If these optical cables can use this new type of low-smoke halogen-free optical cable with strong fire resistance and flame retardancy, it will bring opportunities for information security and personal safety in the data center.
